Service Overview
Kitchen & Bathroom Refurbishments —
The Brief, In Plain English.
What It Is
Full kitchen and bathroom refurbishments — strip out the existing room back to substrate, re-route or upgrade plumbing and electrics, plaster, tile, install new units / suite, fit second-fix, decorate and snag. We handle the whole job under one contract, working with your chosen kitchen or bathroom supplier or recommending ours.
Who It's For
Homeowners refurbishing a tired room before sale or to actually enjoy living in; landlords upgrading rental properties between tenancies; buyers picking up a property knowing the kitchen or bathroom needs immediate work; clients who've had three trades quote separately and want one accountability line.
When You Need It
When the existing kitchen or bathroom is at end-of-life (failed worktops, blown carcasses, dropped floor tiles, mould around the bath), when reconfiguring layout would materially improve daily living, or before a sale when an updated kitchen or bathroom is the cheapest value-add available.
Why It Matters
Kitchen and bathroom refits are where most homeowners get burned by 'project managing it themselves' — six trades on six different timelines, with the tiler arriving before the plaster's set and the kitchen fitter waiting for an electrician who's on another job. A single contractor running it sequenced properly finishes in half the calendar time and costs less in the end.
What Happens If You Wait
The Cost Of
Doing Nothing.
A bad kitchen or bathroom refit is a daily reminder. You stand in front of it every morning — every cut tile, every misaligned cabinet, every dripping seal — and it stays exactly that way until you spend the money a second time.
Risks Of Ignoring It
- →Leaks behind tiles and units — slow water damage to joists and ceilings below, often discovered only when the ceiling stains.
- →Worktop seams that fail — silicone breaks down, water gets between MDF and laminate, swelling and de-bonding follow.
- →Tile substrate failure — tiles laid on inadequate backing board, cracking grout, popped tiles within 18 months.
- →Electrical non-compliance in a bathroom — Zone 1/2 wiring done wrong, no RCD protection, NICEIC certificate can't be issued.
- →Inadequate extraction — moisture builds up, paint blisters, mould in the corner that no amount of bleach kills.
Common Mistakes Customers Make
- ×Buying the kitchen first, then trying to make the room fit it — every dimension fight ends with packers behind cabinets.
- ×Hiring on lowest quote without checking insurance, qualifications and recent jobs.
- ×Cheap tile adhesive and grout to save £80 on a £6,000 bathroom — the failure point of the whole job.
- ×Skipping the first-fix walk-through before plastering — wires and pipes in the wrong place forever.

Why It's Worth It
What You
Actually Get.
One Team, One Programme
No managing trades yourself. We sequence strip-out, first fix, plaster, tile, install and second fix on one calendar — finish date set, finish date hit.
Watertight Substrate
Tile backer boards, tanking around showers, properly sealed cement boards under wet-area floors — no leaks, no failed grout in year two.
Certified Trades
Gas Safe registered for any boiler / gas hob moves, NICEIC for electrics, with certificates issued on completion for your records and future sale.
Worktops Templated Properly
Stone and quartz worktops templated by the fabricator after carcasses are level, cut once, fitted with seamless joints. No on-site recutting.
Real Extraction
Bathroom fans on humidistat and ducted to outside, not into the loft. Kitchen extractors recirculating or vented per the cooker manufacturer's spec.
Clean Daily Site
Dust sheets, daily clear-down, skip on site for waste. You can keep living in the house through a kitchen refit — we keep one running water source and the worst of the dust contained.
Workmanship Guarantee

Full Service Area MapFull Kitchen Refits
Strip-out of existing kitchen, removal of old plaster where needed, first-fix electrics for cooker, hob, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, ring main and lighting, plumbing for sink, dishwasher and washing machine, plaster, tiling, kitchen install (from any supplier — Howdens, Wren, Magnet, DIY-fitted or bespoke), worktop fit, splashback, second-fix electrics with NICEIC cert, plinths and trim, paint.
Full Bathroom Refits
Strip-out to substrate, removal of old flooring, first-fix plumbing for bath, basin, WC, shower, towel rail; first-fix electrics for shaver point, mirror lighting, fan and ceiling lights to Zone-rated standards; tanking around the shower area, cement board to walls and floor in wet zones, tile, install suite, second-fix taps and shower, silicone done last.
Wet Rooms & Walk-In Showers
Slope-formed floor with tanking membrane and bonded drain, tile-over-tray or fully tiled. We don't recommend a wet-room build on suspended timber floors without serious substrate preparation — we'll tell you honestly before quoting.
Boiler Moves, Knock-Throughs & Layout Changes
Moving a boiler to free up cupboard space, knocking through to combine kitchen and dining room (with structural calc and beam where load-bearing), reconfiguring a bathroom around a new walk-in shower instead of a bath. Coordinated with structural and Gas Safe sign-off.
Media Walls & Feature Joinery
Bespoke media walls with recessed TV, electric fire and concealed cabling — built from MDF on timber stud, plaster-finished and decorated to match the room. We do this in living rooms during refurbishment runs.
Residential vs Commercial
Kitchen and bathroom work is overwhelmingly residential. Commercial kitchen and washroom installs (offices, salons, cafés) follow the same trade sequencing but with commercial-grade fittings and gas/electrical certs — see commercial building works.

2026 pricing: standard bathroom refit £6,500–£12,000 (labour, tiling, plumbing, decoration — suite excluded); mid-range with new suite, walk-in shower and quality tile £12,000–£20,000; high-end / wet room £20,000+. Fixed itemised quote.
How long does a kitchen or bathroom refit take?
+
Kitchen: 3–5 weeks from strip-out to handover. Bathroom: 2–3 weeks. Programmed week-by-week with the contract — finish date confirmed before works begin.
Can I supply my own kitchen, sanitaryware or tiles?
+
Yes — we work with any supplier (Howdens, Wren, Magnet, Wickes, B&Q, online suppliers, bespoke makers). We can also supply at trade if you'd rather we handled procurement. PC sums in the quote either way.
Can I stay in the house during a kitchen refit?
+
Yes, with caveats — one week of no kitchen sink (we set up a temporary wash point), the cooker offline when the gas / electric is being re-fitted (typically 2–3 days). Most clients live through it.
Are your trades qualified for gas and electrics?
+
Yes — Gas Safe registered for any gas works, NICEIC qualified for electrics. Certificates issued on completion.
Do you guarantee the work?
+
Yes — 12-month workmanship guarantee from handover. Material warranties on units, sanitaryware, worktops and appliances pass through from the manufacturer.
What if I find a problem after handover?
+
Call us — we come back inside the 12-month defects period and resolve at no cost. Outside that, we honour material warranties and quote any repair work fairly against the original install.
Can you reconfigure the layout, not just refit?
+
Yes — moving sinks, moving the cooker, swapping bath for walk-in shower, combining kitchen and dining room with a beam. Structural calcs and Building Regs handled where needed.
Do you cover all of Greater Manchester?
+
Yes — Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Oldham and Cheshire. See service areas.
